Oakland 2010 Formatting Note

Astute authors have noticed some discrepancies between the originally specified formatting requirements and the IEEE template.

If you use the tempate with the default documentclass,

   \documentclass[10pt, conference, compsocconf]{IEEEtran}

it produces a document with a text width of 7.0in and column separation 0.25in, so the column widths are 3.375in wide (which is 1/8in wider than the originally specified column width). We have updated the formatting requirements to allow the extra 1/8in in the column width.

It is acceptable to use these wider columns in your submission, following the formatting of the provided IEEE tempate.
